Building Learning Powers
At St. Leonard’s, we aim for children to develop their growth mindset. We believe that if a child possesses a growth mindset, they can approach a task with an ‘I can’ attitude. They will be able to show resilience when faced with a challenge, understanding that if they fail at something, they can use this to learn. We call this ‘flearning’.
In order to support and develop growth mindset, we have created learning powers all of which support a common language of learning across the school, from years 1 to 6. Learning powers are used in all classrooms; empowering children and giving them the opportunity to talk about learning to learn.
